Job description
The Role
Your primary objective is to identify and qualify new business opportunities to fuel our growth across your assigned territory. As a BDR, you are the first point of contact for potential Tekst customers. You’ll be the driving force behind our international market expansion, using strategic prospecting to open doors at new logo accounts and building a robust pipeline in collaboration with our sales and marketing team. This role is based in our Ghent HQ.
What You'll Do
Hunt for opportunities: Proactively identify and engage high-potential prospects through cold calling, strategic emailing, and social selling (LinkedIn).
Craft compelling messages: write tight, thoughtful outbound copy that gets attention and earns meetings.
Master the "First Touch": Conduct high-level discovery calls with Director and VP-level stakeholders at leading enterprises to understand their business challenges and qualify them based on fit.
Strategic Outreach: Collaborate with Account Executives to develop territory plays as we are growing internationally. Work closely with our marketing team on account-based marketing (ABM) strategies for target enterprise accounts.
Articulate Value: Clearly communicate the Tekst value proposition, explaining how our AI platform solves complex process inefficiencies for specific industries.
Manage the Funnel: Diligently track all activity and lead stages in our CRM to ensure seamless hand-offs to the AE team and accurate pipeline forecasting.
Become a Product Expert: Stay ahead of AI trends and the Tekst product roadmap to handle initial objections and spark curiosity in prospects.
What You Need
Experience: 1-2+ years of experience in sales development, lead generation, or a high-volume customer-facing role
Resilience & Grit: A hunter mentality with the persistence to overcome objections and stay motivated in an outbound-heavy environment.
Curiosity: A natural ability to ask the right questions and a genuine interest in how AI is transforming the enterprise landscape.
Startup Mindset: Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, early-stage company where processes are evolving and your feedback directly impacts our strategy.
Communication Excellence: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; you can write a cold email that people actually want to read.
Self-Starter Attitude: Highly organized with the ability to manage your own daily cadence of outreach without constant oversight.
Tech Savvy: Familiarity with modern sales tools (Salesforce/HubSpot, Salesloft/Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
Bonus Points if You Have
Experience with the MEDDIC or BANT qualification frameworks.
Fluency in additional European languages (French, German, or Dutch).
A background or strong interest in AI and automation technologies.
